Default Hi Everyone, newbie here

Hi

My name is Jessica and I am new here, although for the last week or so I have been reading about everyone. I had to be a part of such a wonderful community. I have learned so much from all of you, especially the amazing Doc, who has eased alot of my concerns without even knowing who I am.

A little about me. My husband of 6 years is the most amazing man I have ever known. I know I am a lucky girl. I wasn't always obese. I was an active and fit kid, up until I was 19. After marraige, started the cooking and the eating out all the time, and we love to throw parties..you know where this is going. Then started the years of endless diets..you know where this goes too. I topped out at 240 (5ft 1 in) at 26 years old, and hit rock bottom when a client (I'm a Therapist) tried offering me a natural weight loss product for Christmas in 2006. I realized the weight had now taken over virtually every area of my life.

I had Roux en Y on Dec. 3 2007, so about 6.5 weeks out now. I had a rough start because evidently I bled more than the average person, so I was in the hospital for the first week, and then on liquids for a month as the blood was irritating my pouch too much and I was nauseous. The last 2.5 weeks have gone great though! I went to purees and then to softs just a few days ago and I am thrilled to report that I have not had one vomitous experience (knocking hard on wood). My pouch likes pretty much everything I have introduced, with the exception of liquid colace..ick.

A problem I have had, however, is an intense lack of energy and I am always exhausted. Don't know why, exactly. Doctor keeps saying its normal, so ok. I eat 600-900 cals a day, take the multivitamins and calcium daily, plus a weekly B12, and get the 70 g of protein/64 oz water everyday for at least the last 10 days. My activity level was on halt for the first month, but since the beginning of the year, I push myself to do one outing a day and am very slowly building up exercise because I get so tired and I get dizzy a little when I step off the machines. I am always just a little lightheaded. I def don't have spring in my step as of yet, and its frustrating. Esp when I see others in the program saying they "feel so great!"

Anyway, sorry to ramble on, just wanted everyoneto get a chance to read al little about my journey as I have had the opportunity to read about so many of you.

Looking very much forward to being a part of this awesome community!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome! Everyday gets easier. Just keep following the advice. You're doing good with your food and liquid and others. Your body has been through some major surgery and needs to heal. Just like when you have a cold, at some point the symptoms are gone, but you still don;t have the energy until your body fully recoops.

I really like your quote!

Jaime

Welcome. Glad you joined us. Are you on blood pressure pills? My doc said to watch out for lightedness, it could be a sign that my blood pressure pills are too strong. I have already cut them in half.

Welcome to our family. As far as energy goes, I was exhausted for months. Then I got pneumonia and am still fighting that. So just do as your body tells you, tske a nap if you can, drink your water and eat those vitamins. Soon you will have more energy than you know what to do with!! I can't wait for that day to come!

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulatiosn on joining the Loser's Bench.
Sorry to hear of the extra bump you had, and part of your tiredness may come from that, your body needing extra recovery.
Other things to consider are BP meds as Cindi said, and also, since you had extra bleeding, how's your blood counts, if you are anemic, tiredness can come from that too. Also, with bypass surgery, absorption for nutrition essential to keeping you from becoming anemic are often not abosrbed enough, so you'll need to be followed there, too, just in case.

(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.
