Default 3rd day post surgery!

I made it thru surgery with flying colors, came home from the hospital last night.
I'm on here this morning looking for info about gas pains... I know that these pains up high, like right under my ribs is gas/air pockets. I've been walking around the house a lot but it's still mighty uncomfortable.
That's small potatoes in the big picture tho.... overall, I'm doing great and am so happy to be on this side of it!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

First off I would like to say welcome home and glad you are doing fine. I was told walking was the best thing to get rid of the gas pains. I walked and walked and walked some more. Ask your doctor if it gets to bad about taking the chewable gas x pills.

Welcome home, you can also try lying on your back and bend your knees or put some pillows under the lower part of your legs

Hi! I was thinking about you and I'm so glad you're home and (for the most part) feeling well! So any tidbits of info for someone having it done in 11 days? I've read so many posts on post-op, but I feel so unprepared. Did you feel that way? How is your pain? Are you on clear liquids or full liquids? How are you handling what you're eating/drinking? Just curious. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, for the kind words and the advice. I have been walking around my house all dang day long... it's like 12 degrees outside.... and finally am getting a little bit of relief. I was glad that I knew in advance about the gas pains, cuz otherwise I probably would have thought I was having some serious complication. I'm still sore and the gas pains are still there, but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel!

As far as tips, greensgirl, I think you're probably very ready. The staff at the program where I was did a great job of preparing me for what to expect in the hospital and the first couple of days at home, so I've not really had anything happen that I wasn't prepared for. People often say about many kinds of surgeries that the 3rd day is the worst, so that is today for me and it should be uphill from here!
I'm on clear liquid and it's not been a problem so far. I've pretty much been drinking Propel, lemon or strawberry, and those prepared cups of sugar free jello. It was nice to have them all ready when I got home and cold things have felt good. I haven't had any desire for anything else. Good luck to you greensgirl and thanks again to everyone!!
