Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  OMG my HAIR! ok i am FREAKINGGGGGGG OUT HERE.... i just took a shower.... when i rinsed my hair about 12 strands at once came out!!! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED to me before!! I am 3 weeks out..struggling to get in my protien and I need to know if this is normal{which i have read} but for some reason i need a "live" person to confirm this and reassure me and let me know how long this goes on for and if I am going to be BALD???    : (HELP!!! jen

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   | DEEP BREATHS!!! hmmm you just had your surgey. it my be from the anesthesia. usully doesnt start falling out consistantly until around -50 lbs but you are close to that too. you wont go bald  none of us did. it just happends from losing weight too quickly. it will pass.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  | Hasn't happened too badly yet, but expecting it because its probably inevitable. However, in the shower, pulling out 12 strands of hair at once is not so uncommon for me lately so maybe it has started. Anyway, the protein that you do get (whatever that may be at this point) is all being "sent" by your body to sites that need healing and muscles that need preserving. So your hair (a protein in itself) is not being considered a high priority..it will all level out in time though! |

It's a normal reaction we have all gone through....mine started right around 40 pounds and while I still lose a little in the shower now...it's slowed down a LOT!!! Take biotin (get it at walmart) to promote new hair growth....many of us around here have even donned new shorter styles....I don't seem to notice it NEAR as bad having shorter hair!!! YOU WILL BE OK....!!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Its normal to lose 80 to 100 hairs a day . even if ya never notice them before I am a hair stylist I really dont think that it has started yet for you though. You will not go bald. It will just thin a bit. some people more then others. but in the end its just a small price we have to pay to get are bodys back healthy I myself am about 7 months out and have lost very little of my hair but i have friends that have lost much more everyone is different

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My two biggest "ugh" issues are hairloss and saggy skin. I, too, have cut my hair shorter and shorter as the lighter seems to fluff better and it looks a lot less in the shower drain. I keep telling myself it's DD hair but I def can tell diff. Because I change the way I wear my hair like every three days nobody seems to notice the thinning so much. Today I am wearing a cute shortsleeve red shirt (women's heart health awareness day) and I'm self conscious about my arms, but I'm doing it anyway. Its a cute shirt and I'll take a sweater to work coz its freezing in there! It'll be ok and it does grow back, I have a cute bunch on new hairs trying to decide which way to go now (about 3/4" long) LOL
