Hi everyone, this looks like a great sight to be and be kept informed. A little about me.....Male, 5'8" 270 lbs, BMI about 41-42. Am on high blood pressure meds and also lipitor for high cholesterol. I am in Miami and have started the process of my WLS with Cleveland Clinic in Weston. Anyone have info on them? Initial visit was about 2 weeks ago, they gave no indication that there would be any problem.....when I left they gave all my prescriptions for tests that they will need, they called back the other day and scheduled me for my endoscopy for 7/18. Being put to sleep for that so I am not concerned. My insurance is Cigna. Any input on Cigna? My PCP is very cooperative. About the only thing Cigna requires is that I supply them with 6 months of weight monitoring with my PCP. It looks as though my surgery is going to be in Sept or Oct. What can I expect in terms of the recovery process? I know everyone is different and the recovery is going to be different for some, but any input would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear from you guys soon......thanks

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well, most men are wimps, so recovery will probably be worse. JUST KIDDING! I'm pre-op, waiting on insurance approval. It's a different insurance than yours, so can't help you out with that. I'm hoping for surgery the first part of August, so I'll keep you informed about what you have to look forward to. Glad you have joined us. It's a great site with lots of helpful info.

Hi Knightrom and welcome! This board is great! I am pre-op too and all I can say is every insurance is different but I am sure your doctor's office can give you some inside info. I have united healthcare and they are known to be great with gastric bypass suregery.
Good luck and please feel free to make yourself at home and ask any questions we have a lot of seasoned people here and it is great!
