Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   |  I'm new! with a question Hi everyone, my name is Grace, I'm new here and I had WLS on Nov 27. I have lost about 60 lbs and I too have lost some hair, but I had so much that I could lose 1/2 and it wouldn't be noticed-yes I mean A LOT of hair. I think the one thing that is the funnest part of this surgery is that you get rid of your clothes. I have plenty that are smaller because I just "KNEW" one day that I'd get back into them and I have-not all of them-but I will! anyway, I am almost through all of them-then I get to buy new !!!  anyway, my question is, about 3 weeks out from surgery I noticed that i had this really bad tase in my mouth and even brushing my teeth it lingers and i have this terrible bad breath. Now i have read that it's ketosis, but i have also read that it's your body readjusting after surgery....anyone got any ideas? I'd love to hear from all of you! thanks so much, Grace

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  welcome!!! im going with ketosis! i went thru it when i did atkins induction a few years a go. no matter what you do you cannot get rid of it lol. it kept me drinking my fluids just to try to calm it down a bit. now, 10 months out; i either dont notice it or dont have it anymore. it will pass. good luck on your journey

| Super Moderator  | Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us. Congratulations on your great job to this date, (((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well. Ketosis during the rapid losing stage is the culprit most likely, unless you have some sort of oral cavity infection going on. Keep your fluids up to bring the concentration of the ketones down, and to flush them out.
