Hi trashman how are you doing? I am pre-op so I don't have any answers but I do know the first questions they ask is what did you have LapGNY Bypass? OpenGNY Bypass? Band? Or DS? Welcome and the post op's are so helpful! I hope you are feeling okay. I know the pain seems to last people any where from 7-14 days but gets gradually better everyday. I hope this helps. Just start asking questions and they will answer! Congratulations on your journey into wls!

Welcome to the board, Trashman, and welcome to the losing side!! I believe you have a fantastic journey ahead of you. Start right away posting your Qs, there are corners like "Stupid Questions" where the Qs are by no means stupid, actually, as well as various corners for vitamins and nutrition, post op diet, exercise etc. Or, just Coffee talk. Where ever, whenever.

Oops, forgot to say, since you probably accidentally double posted your thread, I have taken the liberty of merging the two threads but have left the posts are they are. That's why some posts are double. Hope you don't mind.

My # 1 issue right now is depresion. I think I am getting depressed. I am not a custom to sitting in the house all day long. At the same time I dont want people coming over or calling. #2 I have so many new feelings and sounds in my belly , I dont know whats normal or not. |

Hi there, you're only one week out. Probably the hardest time is the first week or two post op. Then it starts getting better daily. So, which type surgery did you have? Lap or open RNY, DS, lap band? Some of the answers will depend on which type you had. Many post ops do get depression, ranging from just bluesy, to seriously down low. The emotional roller coaster is very very common. Don't hesitate to get professional help if you feel you need some. Ask your surgeon, he/she will be well aware of these things, so your dr can point you in the right direction. As for all the growling going on in your guts, they probably are normal, I wouldn't worry about it, unless you are feeling nauseous and sick, or have pain. If you are really worried, call your surgeon and ask him. Keep in mind, if you feel anything that you think is wrong or unusual, always ask your Dr, 'cuz he/she's the person who knows exactly how your plumbing was rerouted, so also knows what could happen, and what is normal, and what needs to be looked into.Remember, your innards are trying to heal from major surgery, so take things easy. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Welcome Trashman. I'm pre-op, so can't answer your questions, but I can promise you that there are lots of people on here with just the answers you need. Glad to have you here.
