Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey guys, Ok so I'm in my second week, and feeling pretty good. I was wondering what did everyone eat the second week out. I feel like so guilty because I ate something today, I had no business eating, and the crazy part is I didn't dump. So I just need some suggestions. I know I'm early out and I don't want to test the pouch too much. Thanks guys. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well I had a tiny tiny piece of stromboli, I basically took out the sausage, and just had a dab of sauce tiny piece of cheese and dough. I know terrible, but I can admit it. As far as Jello, I'm so over it!!!!! I just felt like I needed to chew something anything. I see my doctor on Thursday and I will see if he will allow me to start the puree stage a little early. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | you really need to avoid solids right now....I came home from the hospital on full liquids, then graduated to pureed....had to wait like 3 weeks before I could eat anything substantial....and even then, I was a little scared.... You are still healing a lot inside....and carbs will keep you from losing in the long haul (bread, sauce)....the tool is in place now to get you thinking PROTEIN first...and veggies if there's room! It's hard at first, but will soon become routine for you!! |

| I ate this at 2 weeks and still do most mornings - I love it. Get some fat free vanilla yogurt, unsweetened apple sauce, vanilla protein powder, and cinnamon. Mix together. MMMMMM it is like eating apple pie a la mode. My kids even love it. Hope it works for you. |

| Super Moderator | Two weeks out, your pouch is still healing. It's still swollen, and the staple lines are still red and irriated-- and not completely fused. If you could see it on your skin, would you venture out, away from your surgeon's instructions? Would you rub salt into your still raw scars? Because that is what you are essentially doing, when deviating from your surgeon's program. DO NOT FORGET that it takes 3-4 months for everything to heal compltely and get back in working order. No offense but, the one single reason I don't like lap surgeries is because the surface incisions heal so fast that so many people (not just WLSers, but with other surgeries as well) forget completely that they had a complete turnonver inside, and their bodies are still healing and readjusting to the new layout, even if the surface has healed. So, they venture away from their surgeon's instructions figuring it's okay because the incisions are okay, then end up with one complication or another. Please keep in mind, your surgeon's instructions are to PROTECT you, and get the MOST out of the surgery. If you can't stick to it now, how are you going to stick to the life-long program that you will have to keep to reach goal, and to maintain. ((((HUGS))))) Be patient, keep your will strong, as that is the key to your success.
