Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

she just had the surgey on thursday. her one friend is a nurse and works with pre-ops and is around a lot of doctors would do this type of surgey.

she is having trouble going to the bathroom. her friend told her she should have gone already but she is only making pebbles.

she is also having trouble drinking especially mixing the medicine in.

sounds pretty familar - I went through simular things. The bathroom issue took a while to work and the first week it was really hard getting anything in. Give your mom a hug and let her know everything will all work out and this will be a distant memory. Once she starts going to the bathroom she will feel so much better - it is important she tries her hardest to get in the fluids to assist with the bowel movement - Good Luck to her.

That early out, I was just on clear liquids and was not expected to be having BM's. There really isnt anything you are taking in at that stage to make you go. It was so strange for me, but it made sense also. It does get better, just hang in there and keep doing what the doctor has said for you at this stage. As for getting the liquids in, take it slow, and maybe try them at different temperatures, I had to have my water with ice early after surgery, now pouchy likes everything room temperature or warm. Test it and see.

Wlecome to the board, thank you for joining us.
(((((((HUGS))))) to you and your mother, may her journey go well.

She probably needs a lot of water. A week out, she won't be able to make the 64oz usually recommended, but she does need to get in as much as she can.
She won't be able to gulp or guzzle the water like she used to, she needs to sip constantly. Also, if the medications are in pill form, they may need to be curshed for easier intake.

If she is taking meds for things like hypertension, cholesterol or diabetes, she needs to be monitored closer than before, because as her weight comes off, these conditions improve enough to reduce the medication needed or be able to come off them altogther. Especially diabetes meds. Diabetes is resolved at a very high rate very early out of surgery so the blood sugar level has to be watched closely.

is she getting ANY support from her surgeon's office? You will find tons of info on here, but you may want to check with the doctor's office too!

Good Morning, I had a good cry last night and questioned why I really did this. Well that was the easiest question I had answered in a long time. When I drink anything I get so damn full right away and it hurts to drink anymore. I was on the liquid diet to meet my goal weight prior to my two weeks pre-op. Then the two week pre-op came along and I did fine with the liquids. Now the post-op is here. I can't stand any of the shakes anymore. They truly make me sick and I feel like I want to run to the bathroom and throw up. I don't know how to get the protent in. Can anyone help me?

first a few q's maybe we can all help you sort this out.
drinking: how much are you trying to drink at once? ifyou use a little medicine cup it will help break the sips up. you could try to make that little medicine cup last 5 sips.

in terms of shakes: for me early out i used isopure zero carb vanilla from gnc, and then unjury which can only be ordered at Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage. i have to say that so early out protein was not a focus for my surgeon. getting in the crystal light/ water/ popsicles/ ice chips/ jello anything to stay hydrated was the focus. please keep us posted on your progress
