YAY! welcome back! we all fall off from time to time. the easiest way to get back on track is make sure you get in all your water and exercise. remove the bad stuff some at a time. i think stopping cold turkey might be traumatic. good luck and keep us posted!!

Really good to hear from you again! You can do this Emily, things have started slowing down for me and it is easy to fall off and get discouraged. Being on here is what gives me motivation to keep pluggin' along, and not having anything I might be temped to graze on in the house, fruit and veggies are always around for that. We are all in this together, and we can do it!!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hi. i found this ad the other day & it seems to be on the right track??? i'm sure the old timers can give feedback about it??? hope it helps ya. ![]() LOL, Amina How to Stop Weight Regain after Weight Loss Surgery How could anyone possibly put weight back on with such a tiny stomach? That is a question heard nearly daily by Diana Rosa, a registered dietician with Saint Raphael Hospital in New Haven, CT. Most people who consider bariatric surgery have tried numerous diets in the past, have experienced a weight loss and then a weight regain. No one wants to have surgery and face the same results. In Ms. Rosa’s experience, the patients who regain some of their weight seem to have one characteristic in common which has been dubbed “soft calorie syndrome.” A major symptom of “soft calorie syndrome” is eating many soft or liquid, calorie dense foods that pass quickly through the stomach and leave you feeling hungry an hour later. Typical foods that fall in this category are ice cream, sugared liquids, juices and candy. However, any food that can dissolve in water would be a soft calorie food. This includes foods like potato chips, pretzels, cookies and cake, among other sweets. Ms. Rosa suggests eating dense proteins such as meat, poultry or fish that have been baked, broiled of grilled. Avoid meats in gravies and sauces. Always eat your protein foods first because they will fill you up faster and keep you full longer. Eat complex carbohydrates only, vegetables, whole grains and fruits. Separate your foods and fluids by at least 2 hours before and after eating. This practice will also keep you full longer. Do not forget exercise. Exercise is the only way to increase your metabolic rate, which is even more important after weight loss surgery. |

Thank you ALL for all of your support - I am sitting here at work (on a sunday - I know) and almost in tears - you guys really are the best. I have to confess I have been lacking in exercise - with good but not THAT good of a reason. We adopted a baby and since she is here I dont have time but I NEED to make time. Tomorrow is monday - always a good day for me to start something new and so tomorrow is my NEW day! I will get up and drink my protein (because I struggle with that) and take my vitamins (because I struggle with that as well) and then I will go for a walk on my treadmill. That is my goal - no - that is WHAT I will do! I have to because I will not lose at this or fail or fall off. Isnt it amazing how these forums jsut help a person - I mean my husband and family are there to support me but it seems like HERE is where it really helps. Probably because you guys know exactly where I am at or you just know what to say
