I had my lap RNY July 31, 2003 which was the day I started living again. I am 37 years old now, married and mother of 3 children. I was 450 pounds the day of surgery and was to the point I would not leave the house. I was too embarrassed. Now I am 208 pounds (-242). I have a job working as a Credit Customer Service Rep that I love. I am willing and want to go and do many new things. I have gone boating, jet skis,4 wheeling and feel like i am 20. I have had no medical problems with the surgery but do have some problems dealing with the mental side. I still see myself at 450 and don’t know if I will ever get over that but I would do the surgery again in a heartbeat. Life is great and I want to live.
